FLSA: Exempt
Hiring Range: $55,000.00 - $135,000.00/yr. ( The anticipated
starting salary pay range of $55,000.00 - $135,000.00/yr. is based
on minimum requirements for this position. Minimum requirements are
a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and at least 12 years of
relevant experience. The offered salary will be based upon the
selected applicant's education, training, and experience.)

RSI EnTech, LLC is recruiting for a Fire Protection Engineer
whowill be responsible for the
development, implementation, and maintenance of the DOE Office of
Legacy Management (LM) Fire Protection Program in compliance with
DOE Order 420.1C, Facility Safety, and other industrial fire
protection laws, regulations, and safety standards.
This position is required to travel and be in the field at least
10% of the time.
Primary responsibilities and essential functions:
Develop, maintain, and implement an LM Fire Protection Program plan
and flow down documents.
Develop arguments to support Fire Protection Authority Having
Jurisdiction (AHJ) Determinations, including Equivalencies.
Support other LM/LMS Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) for
Determination and Equivalencies, such as Plumbing, Mechanical, and
Electrical AHJs.
Review / Perform Fire Hazards Analysis (FHA) for assigned
facilities, as necessary.
Review and/or re-write existing fire protection procedures as
necessary.
Review and comment on design changes, including temporary
modifications, and support resolution of design-related issues.
Provide input during the development of operating, maintenance,
test plans and procedures for DOE owned and/or DOE leased
facilities.
Conduct site visits, experimental investigations and analyze
engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and
provide recommendations.
Review Design Change Packages (DCPs) to ensure that fire protection
interactions with supporting systems are appropriately
considered.
Review work packages as assigned for fire protection issues and
compliance.
Review and develop Design Change Notices (DCNs), Engineering
Operability Evaluations (EOEs), and other engineering calculations
and/or analysis.
Serve as common fire protection point of interface, ensuring
interdisciplinary coordination of requirements for assigned
systems.
Provide fire hazards analysis, facility fire assessments, design
and work document reviews, and oversight of operations to help
assure fire safety.
Other duties as assigned.
Work experience, skills, and capabilities needed :
Demonstratable experience working, developing, and implementing
fire protection programs.
Demonstratable experience applying NFPA codes and standards.
Prior experience in technical writing, presentation development and
implementation, and proficient communication with diverse audiences
at all managerial levels.
Technical knowledge, certifications/licenses, and software
proficiency required:
Knowledgeable in the application of DOE Fire Protection Program
criteria with DOE nuclear or industrial safety requirements.
Knowledgeable in NFPA codes and standards, evaluation of fire
protection programs and facilities.
Valid driver's license.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Desirable qualifications, experience, or proficiencies of the ideal
candidate:
Post graduate degree in Fire Protection, Engineering, Science, or
related field.
Ten years of progressively responsible professional experience in
fire protection engineering or technology
Previous experience as the Fire Protection Authority Having
Jurisdiction (AHJ)
Required Education and Years of Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection, Engineering, or related field
with a minimum twelve (12) years of relevant experience.Twelve
years of experience includes a minimum of five (5) years of
engineering practice and a minimum of three (3) years where the
candidate was responsible for diverse fire protection engineering
work at a DOE or nuclear power site, facility, or operation.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Sedentary Work Category - The employee exerts up to 10 pounds of
force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently
or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move
objects, including the human body. While performing the duties of
this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The
