Wagner Equipment Co., the Caterpillar dealer for Colorado, New Mexico and far west Texas, is seeking applications for a Branch Shop Manager in Grand Junction, CO.The Branch Shop Manager is responsible for the efficient and profitable operation of the service department; advising and making recommendations to the Branch Parts & Service Manager with respect to the best interests of the Company and wherever service department activities are involved and in a manner that reflects the company's vision of working as "One Professional Team."Essential Functions:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.The Branch Shop Manager is responsible for, within the limits of the authorized policy, procedures, programs and budget and has commensurate authority to accomplish the duties that follow:Consults with Branch Parts & Service Manager in reaching an agreement on annual departmental objectives and carries out programs in order to reach the set objectivesHires, trains and directs a working staff sufficient to efficiently perform the highest amount of service work and to meet the service programs as required by the company service department, making recommendations for status and/or salary adjustments through performance evaluationsMaintains and advises the Branch Parts & Service Manager department employee's status quo via employee evaluationsCooperates with service training manager; schedules shop servicemen for respective training classes and factory schoolsSupervises the operations of the branch service department in coordination with the Branch Parts & Service ManagerHandles all incoming calls pertaining to service shop and information concerning customer inquiries regarding service workCommunicates with customers by phone, personal field contact, or in store, with efforts to sell serviceProvides adequate reports as needed by the Branch Parts & Service ManagerInitiates and closes all shop work orders as necessary and maintains any needed paperwork to work ordersWorks closely with Branch Parts & Service Manager in policy matters as pertains to the branch service operationsSchedules service personnel for weekend, holiday and emergency service workPlans, formally and informally, long and short range, on equipment and facilities requirements; makes recommendations to the Branch Parts & Service ManagerConsults with Branch Parts & Service Manager in reaching an agreement on annual service department budget requirementsMaintains positive control on all house accounts and service accountsConducts audits and follows correct procedures for expense accountsAudits and follows correct procedures in the procurement of service operation tools, supplies and toolsEstablishes and maintains close relationship with field and office personnel of Caterpillar in service related programs and problemsHandles and executes warranties in the best interest of the company and works with the warranty specialist regarding special warranty situationsAssists in factory field programs as requiredMaintains and executes good housekeeping and safety for the best possible image of the companyProvides and maintains safety equipment as neededOther duties as assigned by managerTravel Requirements:1-25%Competencies:Telephone SkillsSafety KnowledgeReading/Writing SkillsReasoning SkillsOrganizational SkillsCommunication SkillsMath SkillsProduct KnowledgeBasic knowledge of Microsoft PowerPointIntermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and ExcelIntermediate knowledge of DBS and ET/SIS/SIS Web/STWWork Environment:Noise: LoudIndoors and OutdoorsPhysical Demands:WalkingTalkingSittingUse of HandsHearingSquatting/KneelingAbility to ascend/descend ladders, stairs, etc.Medium work that includes lifting and/or moving objects up to 32 pounds or moreRequired Education and Experience:High School Diploma or GEDSome college or trade school8 years in a responsible position within the heavy equipment service industry3-5 years administrative/clerical experience5+ years customer service experience1-3 years sales experience3-5 years supervisory/management experience5+ years technical or mechanical experienceAdditional Eligibility Requirements:Must pass all required pre-employment screenings which may include but are not limited to background checks, drug/alcohol testing, fit for duty testing, and any other job-related tests/screeningsPay Range:$61,959.98- $92,570.79 annuallySalary is dependent upon education and experienceEmployee Benefits: Wagner Equipment Co. provides the following benefits to all full-time employeesPaid Time Off (PTO) PlanCompany Paid HolidaysMedical, dental, and vision insuranceLife and AD Insurance401K Savings PlanTuition ReimbursementEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Other Duties:Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
