The business quickly grew to offices in Steamboat Springs, Craig, and Meeker and after the acquisition and merger of several other agencies throughout the western slope it became--Mountain West Insurance & Financial Services, LLC.--The company now consists of over 16 branch offices throughout Colorado and New Mexico.Mountain West Insurance--is currently looking for an innovative, technically savvy--Director of Information Technology--with strong insurance or finance software experience to join our leadership team and work in our Grand Junction office. This is an excellent opportunity to help shape the future of the Agency and to bring the latest technologies to the improve all that we do for our clients.Objective:The Director of Information Technology will provide leadership, innovative vision, oversight and management for all agency IT systems, supporting the goals & business objectives of the agency. They will be tasked with planning, purchasing, development, implementation, management, and maintenance of all applications, infrastructure, security, networks, and other agency IT systems.Performance Expectations/Responsibilities* Provide vision and leadership for developing & implementing information technology initiatives.* Establish and direct the strategic and tactical goals, policies, and procedures for the information technology department.* Manage the day-to-day operations of the information technology department including directing staff, networking, user services, telecommunications and other information technology functions.* Direct the planning & implementation of agency IT systems in support of business operations in order to improve cost effectiveness, service quality & business development.* Accomplishes financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective action.* Maintains organization's effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies.* Supervise and recruit technology staff.* Select & implement suitable technology to streamline all internal operations, optimizing their strategic benefits.* Ensure Policies, procedures and technology are implemented to reduce the threats, vulnerabilities, and consequences that could arise from unprotected data and IT systems.* Stay informed on information technology trends and security standards.* Manage a team of IT personnel.* Facilitate IT security audits and investigations.Required Skills* Proficient knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure.* Solid understanding of data analysis, budgeting and business operations* Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.* Excellent organizational and leadership skills* Superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities.* Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently.* Honesty, integrity, professionalism, and respect.Education/Training Requirements* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field. * Minimum eight years of experience in information technology and data management.* A minimum of five years of experience in management or leadership role.* 3+ years executive-level experience preferred.Work Environment/Physical Activity* General office work environment* Professionalism and respect for coworkers* Requires the regular use of arms, hands, and fingers* Requires sitting for long periods of time, reach with arms and hands, stand, walk, stoop, talk and hear* May be required to lift and or move up to 10 pounds* Requires occasional travel, some overnights for business and training as neededMountain West Insurance & Financial Services, LLC provides equal employment opportunities to all--employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
