As a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist you need to know how to: -- Interpret physician orders and intervene when appropriate for clarification or correction. -- Review the patient profile for allergies, interactions, and appropriateness before dispensing. -- Check dosage for appropriateness for pediatric, adult and geriatric patients. -- Carefully check the work of Technicians before initialing labels. Direct Technicians to perform tasks appropriate to current priorities. -- Provide accurate drug information to other health professionals and lay persons where requested. -- Participate in interdisciplinary staff meetings and medical staff meetings. -- Perform nursing station inspections as assigned by the Director. -- Participate in medication use evaluations, record Pharmacist interventions, and adverse drug events. -- Attend departmental Pharmacist meetings. -- Complete controlled drug records accurately. -- Attend in-services for self-development. Teach classes within the department to Nursing or medical staff when appropriate. Your experience. We hire people, not resumes. But we also expect excellence, which is why we require: -- Graduate from an accredited College of Pharmacy, required -- Valid license as a Pharmacist in the State of practice, required -- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, required -- At least one (1) year of experience in a hospital pharmacy setting, preferred Your next move.
