Job Title: Director of Labor & Delivery Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Nurse Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Variable Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: Minimum of 10 years in Labor & Delivery clinical experience and 5 years in progressive leadership or management experience in a healthcare setting License: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Colorado or ability to obtain Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP certification required Must-Have: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required, Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field required Description: The Director of Labor & Delivery provides strategic and operational leadership for the Labor & Delivery department. This role ensures high-quality, safe, and compassionate care for mothers, newborns, and families. The Director oversees clinical operations, staff development, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement initiatives. Collaboration with physicians, midwives, nursing leaders, and interdisciplinary teams is essential to ensure exceptional patient outcomes. The Director leads and supports nursing and clinical staff through recruitment, mentorship, and professional development. Compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and hospital standards is a critical responsibility. Monitoring departmental performance and leading quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and experiences is vital. Management of departmental resources, staffing, and budget is required to support efficient operations.
