Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Oncology Pharmacist to
support oncology patient care through safe and effective medication
management. This role involves reviewing and verifying medication
orders, preparing and dispensing medications, monitoring therapy
outcomes, and providing education to patients and healthcare teams.
The pharmacist will also support operational pharmacy functions,
ensure regulatory compliance, and contribute to quality improvement
initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Review and verify medication
orders for accuracy, appropriateness, and potential drug
interactions. Prepare, compound, and dispense medications including
oral, IV, topical, and enteral therapies in compliance with
regulatory and safety standards. Monitor patient medication therapy
for effectiveness and safety, collaborating with providers to
adjust treatment plans as needed. Provide medication counseling and
education to patients, families, and healthcare staff. Supervise
and delegate duties to pharmacy technicians and support personnel.
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with hospital
policies and federal/state pharmacy regulations. Monitor medication
inventory, storage conditions, drug shortages, and recall
processes. Participate in clinical programs, quality improvement
initiatives, and pharmacy operations oversight. Support pharmacy
leadership functions when required. Ensure compliance with current
United States Pharmacopeia (USP) standards. Qualifications &
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy required; Doctor of
Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred. Minimum one year of related pharmacy
or oncology pharmacy experience preferred. Active, unrestricted
Pharmacist license in the applicable state required. Current Basic
Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) certifications
required. Strong clinical knowledge, communication skills, and
attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively within a
