SummaryPlan, direct, and monitor all production activities of multiple major departments or units to maximize the use of the organization's resources and meet established production specifications and schedules, and quality standards for technical ceramic components used in medical devices.
Roles and Responsibilities--- Develop and implement manufacturing schedules and procedures and allocate labor and capital resources to maximize productivity and minimize disruptions (budgets, schedule and planning)--- Direct, evaluate, select and develop a team of supervisors and employees who are responsible for various production and related activities such as assembly, maintenance, machine operation, processing, or packaging.--- Analyze production, maintenance, and malfunction records to identify problems and recommend solutions that will improve performance---Management of budgets and operational goals.---Management of communication programs.---Ensure quality control standards are strictly followed and partner with Quality Manager and Engineering on risk mitigations and capability improvement methods.---Follow the Company Operations Roadmap to Excellence in driving shop-floor continuous improvement efforts. Identify and help implement new ideas.---Partner with IT on prioritizing model plant systems integration with effective use for data-driven decision making.---Is engaging and adaptable by providing strong leadership to the entire production organization and enabling growth strategies tied to approved business opportunities.---Owns KPIs associated with manufacturing operations, including quality, cost, customer delivery, employee morale and engagement, and safety.---Act as a key plant staff member co-owning financial performance.--- Liaise with functional or operational managers (for example in supply and logistics, or sales) and internal / external customers to understand their current and future product needs and develop plans, cost estimates, and schedules for integrating these needs into existing manufacturing activities--- Supports and creates effective teams, units, and environments.--- Impacts and promotes organizational strategy and vision.--- Helps employees understand how they impact business strategy as well as leading coaching and providing effective feedback to them.--- Knows and follows all safety requirements; strives to maintain a safe work environment.--- Effectively gives and receives feedback.--- Other tasks related to responsibilities as required.
Job Requirements
Education--- Bachelor's degree required plus 7-10 years related work experience.--- Engineering background preferredExperience--- Minimum 5 years manufacturing experience.--- Preferred experience in orthopedic or related medical device manufacturing--- Lean Manufacturing principles and implementation
Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:--- Performs detailed tasks requiring high math skills.--- Effective communication skills.--- Ability to use the computer system for departmental functions.--- Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds.
