MUST BE A COLORADO RESIDENT TO APPLY The Department of Biology and Physical and Environmental Sciences is an academic division of Colorado Mesa University offering students a variety of programs and degree opportunities. Description of Job Provides support to the department heads, faculty, students and student clubs. This position assists with development of class schedules, assuring classes have room assignments and make sure schedule conflicts are resolved. Prepares paperwork for part-time faculty and overloads. Schedules classes and faculty in CLSS system. Orders all supplies for both departments. Monitors budgets and allocates costs accordingly. Assists with required reports and paperwork. Assists with the collection/confirmation of semester course syllabus, faculty schedules, administration deadlines and annual evaluations. Attend trainings for software programs use for course development, scheduling and budget, such as course leaf programs (CLSS), CIM, cognos and banner. Maintains faculty and staff listings and provides a campus phone and office list. Assist with faculty searches and hires. Facilitates faculty with student advising, internship set-up, curriculum and new course development. Assist faculty with advising responsibilities of current and potential students. Coordinates and expedites the repair and maintenance of computers, copiers. Facilitates faculty with work orders/helpdesk tickets to keep classrooms safe and functional. Distributes department mail Delivers messages, and determines routing of telephone calls and in person visits if questions/problems cannot be answered or solved directly. Provides accurate information to students regarding schedules, exit exams, deadlines (drop/add), and graduation requirements. Assists with major/minor changes and advisor assignments. Participates in student recruitment, orientation and registration events. Keeps information confidential. Interacts with the community in person, via email or telephone to answer program related questions for students, public and employees. Scheduling and taking minutes at meetings. Other duties as assigned.
